At 68% of all windows sold, vinyl is by far the most popular window material in the US. BUT, there's a lot of confusion regarding vinyl windows and their quality. So we've made it simple for you by dividing our top three manufacturers into different value packages.
GreenWorld Platinum Series
A basic, durable window for investors, apartments and multi-family projects.
Crystal Pacific Vista PLUS Series
Of all the manufacturers in Southern California, Crystal Pacific Windows & Patio Doors provides the most bang for your buck, in our opinion. For example, many of the features below that other companies categorize as "premium" are standard with Crystal Pacific's Vista PLUS Series. All for a price much lower than the leadind brand windows.
Our Personal Experience
We've always experienced the best service, training and support from Crystal Pacific.
We tell our friends, if you want a good window that won't break the bank and looks great, you can't go wrong with Crystal Pacific's Vista PLUS series.
Milgard Tuscany Series
Milgard vinyl windows and doors are easily the most popular windows in Southern Califonia. In fact, their windows are so popular here that Milgard has two factories; one in Simi Valley and one in Temecula. But does popularity equal quality?
As Certified Milgard dealers, we sell at least $300,000 worth of Milgard windows a year--that gives us a lot of experience with this product. Overall, we have to say that Milgard windows are not necessarily the "best" (which can be defined in different ways) or the cheapest or even the most beautiful. However, what makes Milgard a favorite among our 14,000 customers is that they blend a combination of great design, impressive quality control, responsive service, and reasonable price that hits the "sweet spot" when compared to other brands.
Design (Score: 8)
Custom grid patterns: check. V-groove glass available.
Two colors (White and Desert Tan) with seven optional painted exterior colors make color matching easy.
Beveled frame adds detail with being too busy or too plain.
Brickmold frame available for those who want a more substantial exterior trim.
There are other window companies with even more options available, but most people are more than happy with the above.
Quality Control (Score: 9)
Based on our experience with other manufacturers, Milgard definitely has quality control staff checking orders before leaving the factory. We have very few mistake windows or broken windows arrive here. They hit their delivery dates 99% of the time. They do what they say and say what they do. They are dependable and reliable.
After-Sales Service (Score: 9)
With two factories in SoCal, their service techs are never too far away. They are also neatly dressed with fully-equipped trucks and tools to make almost any field service repair. We've never had a complaint about a tech not being on time or missing appointments. We only wish we didn't need them at all!
Price (Score: 8)
When you purchase a product that will stay with your home for the remainder of its life, you'll never regret paying for quality products. That said, Milgard's pricing is competitive and fair versus other windows of similar quality. Remember, "Quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten."
Many others excel at only one or two of these areas, but Milgard manages to be above average in all.
What's the difference between Milgard's StyleLine and Tuscany Series Windows?
